In For spoken, the Open World Adventure of Luminous Productions, we accompany the 21-year-old New Yorkie Frey, which suddenly lands in the threatening fantasy world of Atria one evening. Luckily, she does not have to be completely defenseless there and is blessed with mighty magical skills that you can do with the help of your speaking bangle. So she not only resists against monsters, but also moves with collar Parker maneuvers.
With the first trailers, foresospects screwed the expectation of many open World fans already powerful. On the one hand, due to the promising concept, magic and parkour to connect together and at the same time to tell an exciting story. On the other hand, because of the optics, or rather: because of Square Enix 'self-confident promise that Outspoken thanks to Fidelity Super Resolution should exceed all other Open World games visually.
After finally seen more of the game world and the struggles in the context of a digital gameplay presentation, we are quite pleased on a playful level, but it is clearly disappointed with the optics.

Nice but lifeless
Sure, foreseen looks at first glance almost outrageously beautiful. Crisp textures, realistic lighting and shadows, spectacular magic effects, and all this is to be displayed even thanks to AMD's new Super Resolution Technology even in 4K and butter soft 60fps.
Now comes the big but During our preview event, we were able to look a little behind For spoken's shiny façade and make two things disillusioned, which have already suggested in the first trailers:
- Frey's Character model is currently still a bit lifeless, almost dolly. Your face lacks decisive details that you would make human. It looks ballast, no visible skin unevenness, hairs and wrinkles, everything seems immaculate. This is accompanied by a rigid facial expression, which just stands out negative when it speaks.
- The game world sees hitherto rather from: In the gameplay video shown, for example, Frey is running through the streets of a city that comes straighten in detail. Although there are people who are mostly just like robots. We are looking for vain for example as in, for example. And they are on top of that in their brown-black cows all difficult to distinguish from each other. We introduce ourselves a living city differently.
Even outside the city walls, Atria seemed to us so far rather empty, partly really desolate. However, we have so far seen too little to allow us a complete judgment. A little more life in Atria would still be desirable. Because traversal — so great the mechanics in the end also work — is still the most fun when the environments not only look pretty, but actually awaken exploration.
How to work combat system and character progress
But not only in the air, but also in the fight, Frey shines with her magical skills. No matter if bird hood, dragon or zombie-like humanoids — every monster in Atria is aggressive and attacks the young woman when it comes to close. And even in groups. Mostly it must take on the heroine with several opponents simultaneously, and combines a wide variety of magical elementary capabilities:

The fighting effects on pure watching exciting: Frey moves rapidly quickly around her enemies and must decide at least as quickly as her skills she fires her. Whether it plays so fun, as it looks, we still have to wait.
Progress system : Frey's Disadvantaged and plugged damage is displayed (Action) -RPG-typically directly in numbers, for example, as in Final Fantasy 15. Frey therefore has specific character values that determine your attack or defense force. We can improve these values in which we equip the heroine with new hanging or necklaces, among other things. In addition, Frey will be able to learn much more skills in the course of the adventure, which we unlock on a classic skill tree and of course upgrade.
In terms of gameplay, foreseen makes a good first impression. The dynamics and speed in combat and moving movement could be decisive for the game fun at the end, both mechanics should perfectly interlock. Only in terms of optics are still skeptical, and that makes a lot of power at an open World Adventure.
